This week with my personal 2022 goals at the forefront of my mind I wanted to talk about goals, specifically the ones in which chiropractic can potentially help. Many people set goals this time of year and never follow up with them. At happy family chiropractic we can be part of your team that encourages you to complete those goals. Give us a call or book an appointment online and we will do our best to be a good asset on your team. ## What are goals? Many people talk about the benefit of setting goals in our lives. I have seen lots of success simply because I have written something down and set out to do it. Many times i even write goals down and forget about them, coming back to my goal journal later on and realizing that i have completed something that i have written down gives me a fantastic psychological boost. So what is a goal? In my opinion a goal is a target or objective that one sets out to reach. My favorite type of goals are what are known as SMART goals. In short these are goals that are Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant, and Time bound. ## Dr. Derek's Personal Goals Some of the goals I currently have set for myself are running the Nifty Fifty in Juneau in august this is building off of my marathon goal from last year, bench pressing 315 lbs on my 30th birthday, increasing my spirituality and closeness with deity and maintaining up to date qualifications with my chiropractic licensure. ## Common goals that We can help with I have heard about many goals recently that could be supported through regular chiropractic care. 1. \*\*Lose weight.\*\* This is probably the most common new year's resolution ever. If you have pain accompanied with the exercise necessary for weight loss, we can likely help at Happy Family Chiropractic. 2. \*\*Increase activity.\*\* Along with weight loss many individuals are simply trying to increase their daily activity by exercising more. If this is one of your goals, chiropractic can definitely help. 3. \*\*Healthier lifestyle.\*\* Building a healthier lifestyle is another common goal I have been hearing people talk about. One of My favorite things to do with my patients is teach them how they can live healthier. As you look forward to this new year and you envision a healthier you, think about adding a chiropractor in Juneau to your routine.
